Reflection Paper On Study

What do you think when you hear the word study? The endlesspursuit of knowledge and
Truth? The actual definition A setting of the mind or thoughts upon a subject; hence,
application of mind to books, arts, or science, or to any subject, for the purposeof
acquiring knowledge. Now who do you think of when you associate the word study
with a individual. Albert Einstein Dmitri Mendeleev.
Now I associate study with these men as well StDominic, Albert the Great, and
Thomas Aquinas. Theses men dedicated themselves to God’s work but also to study. St
Dominic started his studies at the young age of seven. In his early years StDominic
studied under the tutelage of his uncle , the archpriest of Gumiel d'lzan. In 1184 Saint
Dominic entered the University of Palencia. Here he remained for ten years, pursuing hisstudies with such ardor and success that throughout the university he was admired by his
teachers and peers as a true scholar.
Albert the Great he study at the University of Padua around 1221and became very
interested in natural science and theology. Albert was sent to Germany to do his novitiate
and began his theological studies. He also went to the University of Paris to earnhis
Doctorate in theology. He also taught for many years.
Thomas Aquinas Became a master of Theology in 1257 and study for his
Doctorate from the University in Theology at the Universityof Paris in from 1252 to
1256.Thomas Aquinas studied, taught basically his whole life. Then one day finally
stopped and said “Everything I have written seems like straw in comparison with whatI
have seen and what has been revealed to me” He died not long after that.
I too want to be like these men and continue to study my whole life. I at least want to earn two doctorates and...
