Description
Funnel-webs are largeblack spiders with a shiny head/thorax. The body may range from 1.5 cm up to more than 5 cm long depending on the species.
Female funnel-web spiders are stockier than males, with shorter legs and a bigger abdomen, which may be brown or bluish. The eyes are small and closely grouped, the fang bases extend horizontally from the front of the head and the long fangs lie parallel underneath (do notcheck this on a live spider!).
Funnel-web spiders are found in:
* Queensland
* New South Wales
* the Australian Capital Territory
* Victoria
* South Australia
* Tasmania.

One of the more toxic spiders that are in existence is the Mouse spider, which can be found in environments ranging from desert to Eucalyptus tree forests, with the only real places they are not foundbeing the southern rain forests of Australia.
Mouse spiders are not extremely large, with a leg span that will just about cover a quarter dollar USD, however they more than make up for it in aggressive behavior.
The Mouse Spider has eight tiny eyes that are spread across the front section of their head, behind the fang area.
The female is black in color, while the male is black or dark brown andmay at times have a red head color.
Mouse spiders have extremely long and large fangs in comparison to many spiders of their size and to some which are significantly larger than they are.
They are about 2 centimeters long when adult. THe mouse spiders fangs open extremely wide, and can open, like pincers and cross over each other.

Trap-Door Spider, common name for any of several large,hairy, harmless tropical spiders that nest underground. They make long burrows in the earth, line them with silk, which they spin, and fashion at the entrance a bevel-edged, hinged, accurately fitting trapdoor often made of alternate layers of earth and silk. The upper surface of the door may be covered with earth or gravel, thus disguising the entrance. A species common in the southwestern UnitedStates digs holes about 2.5 cm (about 1 in) in diameter and sometimes 30 cm (12 in) in length.
The nests of trap-door spiders are generally in groups. The young hatch in the burrows of their mothers and live there for a few weeks; they then leave the nest and begin small underground burrows of their own. Trap-door spiders subsist largely on ants and other insects.
Scientific classification:Trap-door spiders make up the family Ctenizidae of the order Araneae. The species common in the southwestern United States is classified as Bothriocyrtum californicum.

A large, bulky spider, with females reaching over 35mm in body length and males around 25mm. The male also has more slender legs and a spur which is located on the third segment of the second leg. This tiny appendage is a lifesaverfor the male as it holds the female's fangs during mating. The head region is characteristically glossy black, while the abdomen is dark brown or purplish in colour. The body and legs are covered with fine hairs.
Habitat:
The Sydney funnel-web prefers to make its home in sheltered, shady spots, which are always cool and humid. The natural habitat are rainforests and wet sclerophyll forests,however, the shaded areas of well-vegetated private gardens are also readily colonized. The silk-lined burrow is constructed beneath some type of object such as a rock or log and may reach 600mm in length. Most burrows have two entrances which are also lined with silk in a general funnel shape, with numerous thicker lines anchored to adjacent rocks, roots, etc. These threads may also act as...
