1. What cultural events marked this period of time, how, and why?
The cultural event that marked the culture, of this period of time, as well as many other cultures around the world, is mostly,the oral tradition, when the groups gathered and told stories, myths, legends and tales about their ancestors, their successors, and almost everything that concerned the traditions of the group and theculture.
Some other cultural events are the creation of myths, which are the base of any cultural beliefs. They explain many of the phenomena around the different tribes, and expose how humans aresupposed to prototypically react towards them.
Besides the general aspects, there is one very important event: when the Puritanism takes over the American territory, and starts spreading theirbeliefs and principles, which are based on proving your faith through actions. This event is very important because the cultures get mixed up, the Native American and the British as well, because eachone of them took traits of the other. This is why Puritanism’s characteristics are very influential on the beliefs, even nowadays.
There are also some cultural events that influence even nowadaysthe traditions of the Americans citizens, such as Thanksgiving the persecution of witchcraft, among others. Thanksgiving is the party that celebrates the ‘harvest festival’, and it consists of givingthanks to God for providing such an excellent harvest, and thus, food for the tribes and the inhabitants, it is still celebrated nowadays. The witchcraft that was exhaustively persecuted was also acultural event that has left a mark on American history.
