Visual kei
(‘’ literally "visual style" or "visual system")
is a movement among Japanese musicians, that is characterized by the use of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes(flamboyant: is the name given to a florid style of late Gothic architecture ) often, but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics. Some sources state that visual kei refers to a music genre, orto a sub-genre of Japanese rock.
However other sources state that visual kei's unique clothing, make-up, fashions, and participation in the related sub-culture is equally as important as the soundof the music itself in the use of the term.
X japan
X Japan were one of the first visual bands in Japan and also one of the most popular. They started in teh mid-80's with the union of schoolfriends Yoshiki (drums and piano) and Toshi (lead vocals). After that the joined with a couple other guys and formed the band X.
Versailles
is a Japanese visual kei metal band formed in 2007.
Theirkey characteristics are their rococo-esque costumes, dueling guitars and heavy but melodic arrangements

it was announcedthat Jasmine You would temporarily suspend all musical activities due to unknown circumstances regarding his health and to recover. In the early hours of August 9, 2009, it was reported on the official sitethat Jasmine You had died.
