Place Names
The origin of the word "Pachuquilla" or small Pachuca, from Pachoaca Otomi dialect, meaning "place of government".

History

Its coordinates are:

✓ Witha latitude of 2.400 mts. to 2.800 mts. on sea level.

← North to the municipality of Mineral of Monte.
← The south by the municipality of Zempoala.
← The East by the municipality of Epazoyucan.
← West with the municipalities of Pachuca and Juarez Zapotlán.
← The municipality is located northeast of Mexico City at a distance of 100 km and 38 km from Tulancingo.

Theterritorial area is 92.50 km2, representing 0.4% of the total area of our state.

Orography
Situated in the area volcánic, this municipality has plain in a 55%, and hill in a 40%.
The municipality has several type of relief, so that the first in areas of accidents, the second at the zones little flats and the last at the zones flats.
The zones accidents it is localize in the northwest of themunicipality, the zones little flats in the places of san Carlos, Carboneras, Amaque, Pachuquilla, Saucillo and Cardonal.  The zones flats it is localize in the community of the Venado, the Higa and Chavarría.
Existence some hill of small altitude as the hill of Tlaquilpan, hill of Chilolote, hill Gordo, hill of the Amaque and hill of Peña Pegada.

Hydrography
This municipality has one onlyríver; of the Hules, that  go across the municipality from north to south, go across on end (in the south) with the river Atempa.

Climate 
The climate is temperate -cold, with moderates rains in the months from June, July, August y September has been one precipitation rain of 392 mm. for year.
The months more warm be May, June, July and August. 
The direction of the winds is from south towest, of little humidity, principally in the months from February, March y April.
The temperature media annual is of 16 grade centigrade.

Main Ecosystems

❖ Flora
The vegetation is sparse because of the weather conditions in the town, only there are plants like maguey and nopal.
There are about 300 ha forest in disrepair.

❖ WildlifeThere are only rabbits and rodents here, some birds and a few reptiles like the lizard, snake and chameleon. Also there are many insects.

Education
Mineral de la Reforma has a good education.

There are 14 colleges of preschool, 19 primary school , 3 high school. There are 2 bachillerear, the C.B.T.I.S No 8 citing on the street Chacon and a COBAEH citing on the Unidad Minera.
