Throughout history one can see people expressing their feelings and beliefs through different ways. One of the ways, which is also one of the oldest, of expressing onesfeelings would be poetry. Even though many beliefs and feelings have been immortalized in paper that doesn’t necessarily make them true. What mostly makes them true would bea scientific validation, thing that barely agrees with the feelings that are shared in poetry. Through the ages one can see how science and the feelings of one’s heartnever agree and how they constantly try to invalidate one another. Though this is so in this poem one can see how the author successfully applies his knowledge of science andhis feeling of love in one beautiful work for his lover. In Alan’s Bold “A Special Theory of Relativity” the speaker is an intellectual man that is proving his love throughscientific facts.

The speaker of the poem “A Special Theory of Relativity” is a smart man as seen when quotes Einstein “ According to Einstein/ time slows down/ as weapproach/the speed of light./(22,23,24,25) To be able to take the theory made by a scientist understand it well enough to be able to exemplify it through his love life.
“ASpecial Theory of Relativity” is proving his love whit observations and facts mad by Einstein. Comparing how he feels through scientific theories of mass and speed. Thisis clear when he says “Everything is moving/ relative to something else./ My love, I move myself towards you,/”((3,4,5) Here he is comparing how things move according tosomething else to how he does everything to be closer to his lover. Making his feeling feel more like a fact a stated theory made by a scientist to under stand his feelings.
