Young People Are Addicted to the Net
Young people who are addicted to the internet are likely to use it between 40-80hours per week. According to a recent survey conducted by the University of Minnesota, the number of young net addicted people has increased rapidly. Many parents are concerned about this issue; mostof them are trying to find a solution quickly. However, many parents fail because they do not know how to deal with this problem. The internet is an excellent tool for many people around the world,but young people do not know how to use it properly. The most important causes are social networks, lack of education and lack of parental supervision.
Social networking has become sort of an“addiction”. Mostly young people have been involved in many of them. For example, Facebook is the biggest social network on the internet. This social network offers different features to their users. Dueto Facebook, many adolescents are wasting time because they do not pay attention to their assignments. Traditional pastimes have been abandoned because young people prefer to keep in contact viasocial networks. Most young people who have Facebook accounts use this tool like pastime. Many of them spend hours checking new updates and playing video games in Facebook. In addition, thereare adolescents who feel overwhelmed, but they do not accept it because they believe that social networks are very necessary and important. Many people believe putting some restriction on the internetuse; it would be the best way to solve this problem in our society.
A key factor is the lack of education; few people know how important education is. It is necessary to give young people agood education with advantages and disadvantages such as the steps to becoming a successful person.
