Air pollution affects directly the quality life of millions, since it affects health causing diseases as pneumonia, bronchitis among other respiratorydiseases. It do not affect every country or city with the same strength, because geographical conditions in some places it is more noticeable, furthermore Santiago, which is located in a catchment area,is one of the most polluted city in our country followed by Temuco and Concepcion. There are two main reasons why some cities or countries are more affected by air pollution, first geographicalconditions, and second the huge amount of sources of contamination such as industries, cars, people, and nature.
Combustion provoked by industries is one of the most important and aggressive source ofcontamination around the world, it has been a big worry since global warming and other problems appeared. Even though industries are destroying our planet with toxic waste, they are the lesser evil todevelop technology and economy. Furthermore the most developed countries in the world are also the most contaminated ones, for instance USA and China.
Cars are another source of contamination sincebuying one is relatively cheap everywhere; it is also related to the development of countries where there is more affordability and purchasing power. In our country having a car means more time andcomfort since public transport is very deficient. In this point is important to mention that geographical characteristics are crucial, for instance in Argentina the use of diesel car is encourage,because it has a good ventilation, therefore there is no accumulation of carbon dioxide, however in Chile there are car restrictions in autumn and winter, not only because of air pollution but also...
