Air Pollution
In large cities, air pollution is caused due to leakage of gas combustion engines, household appliances for heating, industry, which is released into the atmosphere either as gases, vapors or able to keep solid particles in suspension, with values higher than normal, harm the life and health, both human and animals and plants. This layer (the atmosphere) absorbs the greateramount of solar radiation and due to this leakage occurs from all the ultraviolet rays. The increase of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere due to burning coal and oil, leading to overheating of the air and seas, which is a chemical imbalance in the biosphere, producing a high amount of CO carbon, highly toxic to living things. Air pollution comes predominantly of industrial pollution by combustion, andthe main causes are the generation of electricity and the automobile. There are other toxic substances that pollute the atmosphere as lead and mercury. It is important that residents of large cities are aware of the ecological environment is a primary need. It should legislate on substances that can go into the atmosphere and the concentration that should not be exceeded. Polluted air affects usin our daily lives, manifesting itself in different forms in our body, such as eye irritation and conjunctival disorders in membranes, respiratory tract irritation, exacerbation of bronchopulmonary diseases, so on…
There are several ways to prevent air pollution, namely:
* Use proper fuel for domestic heating and industry.
* Use filters chimneys runs or able to fulfill their duties.
*Maintain motor vehicles in good condition.
* Do not burn leaves or garbage, so on...
Ecologists in Action
Definition:
Ecology is a set of science which studies relationships between living things and the environment in which they are. The unit of study for him ecosystem ecology is made up of individuals of different species and their environment. The aim of ecology is the study of the structure andoperation of nature. Computer techniques have been applied to solve environmental problems, related to the structures of communities and ecosystems through the use of simulation models, which can be descriptive or predictive. This branch of ecology is called "ecological system". Environmentalism emerged in the 60 of the movements for environmental protection. At the international levelhighlights "Greenpeace" born in 1972, after a meeting in Vancouver (Canada) in 1971. They become aware of the fracture that occurs between man and nature because of industrial civilization. Industries inevitably destroy a part of nonrenewable resources, pollution sources accumulate and endanger the survival of the species. In contrast environmentalists seek ways of balanced development with nature, whereonly non-polluting renewable energy use.
Developing ideas and policy for healthy growth
In developing countries, adequate food supply, it is sometimes disappointing. Traditional agriculture cannot bear the burden of having a growing population on limited soil. Fertility is achieved by steeping the earth, which thus regenerates its own nutrients, but population growth makes this very difficult. Therefore decrease fertility, soil starts to wear, to erode, its consistency becomes like that of fired clay. In the worst case, becomes a desert. It is suggested, therefore, conduct in government, an inventory of resources (soil, vegetation, wildlife, rivers), a rational combination of technology, decentralization of industry and urban areas, to other less populated. All this will be easy toachieve if governments exercise real control over resources. Another serious problem facing developing countries is the lack of capital. There are some industries using modern processes, put an end to most contaminants. But surely, this means higher capital investment. The American Council of Environmental Quality estimates that the industry must invest four to five billion dollars annually in new...
