QUEEN
Queen was a rock metal band which started in 1971. After that the guitar player Brian May and the drummer Roger Taylor, decided to form another band and included the singer FreddieMercury. Then the band included John Deacon. In 1974, they became to be acquaintances, and the single “Killer Queen” was the first gig in the United States. Later, they were stars and theband was number 5 in the United States but in Great Bretaña the band was I number one and they were there for weeks. In 1972 their first contact was with Emi Records. Their first song “Keepyourself alive” became to be popular few years later
In 1980 the band was so popular and in 1985 they made a show to benefit “Live Aid”. During September, 1976 the group did a small tour forthe United Kingdom that it concluded on September 18 with a free recital in the London Hyde Park before 150 thousand persons. This event collapsed the public transporter.
On November 1, therethrows the album Sheer Heart Attack, the second disc of the year 1974. Sheer Heart Attack came to the position n. º 2 in the English lists, remaining there for 42 weeks. After the edition ofthe disc it went out to the market on January 17, 1975 simply “Now I'm Here " / " Lily of the Valley ", was kept in the British lists for seven weeks reaching the position n. º 11. ThirdQueen's delivery was considered to be better than his predecessors. It was his first golden disc in the United States, being in addition the first successful album in both sides of the AtlanticOcean. Mercury died in 1991 in his mansion of London, he was 45 years old. The last public appearance of the quartet was in the delivery of the prizes Brit Awards of 1990, for thecontribution that Queen had in the British music. Queen's offices remained flooded by flowers in commemoration of the artist. On November 27 Mercury it was cremated in the West London Crematorium.
