A y AN
El artículo A /a/ tiene dos traducciones en español: UN y UNA. Observa estos ejemplos:
A (UN)

Tienes que tratar de recordar dos reglas básicas para este artículo (en el siguiente nivel de inglés, aprenderás algunas excepciones a estas reglas):
1. Delante de palabras que comienzancon consonante se utiliza el artículo A (UN, UNA) que has visto más arriba.
2. Delante de palabras que comienzan con vocal se utiliza el artículo AN que significa también UN y UNA. Observa:
AN (UN)

EL PLURAL DE LOS SUSTANTIVOS
Como regla general,para formar el plural de una palabra en inglés se agrega una –S al singular. Más adelante estudiarás otras alternativas para formar los plurales.

En inglés, cuando deseas expresar que "hay" o "no hay" algo en determinado lugar se utiliza una expresión formada por la palabra THERE seguida del verbo IS o ARE, según se trate de singular o plural.
Estudia atentamente estas explicaciones básicas:
SI HAY "SÓLO UNA" UNIDAD (PERSONA, ANIMAL UOBJETO)...
a) para afirmar
THERE IS... (Hay...) 

THERE IS a wardrobe.
Hay un armario.

b) para preguntar
IS THERE? (¿Hay...)

c) para negar
THERE IS NOT... (No hay...)
