All we need is love
John Donne was an English Jacobean poet and priest best known for his famous poem named A Valediction Forbidding Mourning where the author explains that he is forced to spendsome time apart from his lover, but before he leaves, he tells her that their farewell should not be the occasion for mourning and sorrow. The following essay is about the difference between intellectuallove and sensual love.
I think that despite both of them are important during a relationship; intellectual love is more transcendental or heavenly than sensual love because when a man and a womanbegin a relationship, they don´t know if this love could survive the pass of time and that is why is very difficult to find someone that could complete his/her soul. A relationship is based on theemotions that you could feel for somebody and it has to do with what kind of person he is and what he has to offer you. It is a plus if your partner is sexy but this doesn´t mean that you will be able todeal with him every day. That is why I like very much the stanzas number 4 and 5 from the poem that says;

“ Dull sublunary lover´s love
Whose soul is sense cannot admit
Of absence, ´cause itdoth remove
The thing which elemented it.

But we by a love so much refined,
That ourselves know not what it is,
Inter-assured of the mind,
Care less, eyes, lips and hands to miss”.

In thesestanzas I think the author clearly shows the difference between intellectual and sensual love because the love of “dull sublunary lovers” cannot survive separation and their love is so refined that isnot important if their bodies are separated because their souls are united. Moreover, sensual love is only a physical attraction. It is easier for somebody to be attracted to another but thisrelationship will not last a long period of time because this one is only physical and love is build on emotional things.
