SUMMARY
It is Town Councils’ concern the needs and interests of the community, through
out the study of social, economics and progress factors. From these factors, it’s
expected to have a set oftools, which allow handli ng in a quick and easy way the
communal information.
The most appropriate tool to handle this information is a Geographical
Information System (GIS).
A logical inventory database creation, allows to associate cartographic
elements to beneficiate the execution and implementation of a Geographical
Information System of any kind; in this particular case, a GIS MegaProject for
public illumination at the “El Bosque” Town Council.
With the creation of new data tables, existing information can be linked with
updated data for the town’s public illumination, all this, under a defined format,
generating a spatial data structure.
Project SNIT (National Territorial Information System), precisely is looking for a
standardization of this spatial datainfrastructure for our Country, having as goal
the homogeneous information language between the different private and public
entities through out the Metadata.
