1. Amish Religion:
Amish or Amish Mennonite was founded in Europe by Jacob Amman. He was a Swiss Mennonites leader in the 16 century.He favored strong and strict discipline. Amman believe Mennonite which is a branch of Christian faith,but differed of them in some types strict literalism and separate from Mennonite. As a result, they Amish and Mennonite separate each other because theirheritage they preserve many similarities.
Amish were originally from German, Switzerland and the Alsace region of France, they were Anabaptists.
Anabaptists means “one who baptizes again” is a peoplewho was baptized as infant, but later adopt a new belief and then is baptized again as adult.





2. Amish immigrated to the United states in the 18s century because of the religion persecutionon their Continent.
They originally settled in Pennsylvania and now they have settled about 28 States in the United States and in Canada.
Amish population in the United States is estimated about261,150 and growing. Today more than half of the Amish who live in US are segregate in five states. They are in Ohio with the greatest concentrate of population, in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Wisconsinand Michigan.
Amish speak in their homes a Pennsylvania German Dialect and some communities speak Swiss Dialect. English is their second language which is learned at school.
3. There are about 8different independent orders or congregation of Amish like:
Old Amish- are the largest group
New order Amish
Andy Weaver Amish
Beachy Amish
Swarzentruber Amish – are the most conservative Amish.Home Amish -Some Old Amish are called in that way because practice their religion in the privacy of a home.
Their difference is the way that they practice their religion.
