ABSTRACT
The Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali has identified some tasks associated with some of its
process (assessment, planning, performance, etc.). The execution of this task should improve the
quality of the teaching process and / or to contribute to a greater knowledgeof the financial
situation at any period, to perform certain financial projections and study the feasibility of new
programs. One of these tasks is the analysis of class room's assignment for courses and exams. The
solution to the former problem requires the use of reliable information, being the minimum
necessary, because some of the techniques used to solve the problem requires reducing thedimensionality of the data. Much of the data required in this task are common, and are managed by
different offices at the university. This project propose, prior to the solution of the problem
addressed, an analysis of all information necessary, applying expert’s methods to identify objectives
goals, constraints on the issue, clarity of information flow to apply preprocessing methods to data, including reducing dimensionality of data type used in the subsequent solution of this problem.
Keywords: University Management, Data Analysis, Data Mining, Timetabling Problem.
