Argentina has a considerable oil and gas wealth which enables this country to organize a petrochemical production which together with the soy and metalindustry constitutes the basis of the national economy.
These tree economic industries are responsible for 20% of total exports; of which only 4.6% is exportedwithout an industrialization process.
Argentina's manufacturing industry is the sector that provides more value to GDP, (Gross Domestic Product) with 17.5% of totalmanufacturing industry, and is also one of the main generators of employment, with 13%.
In Argentina there are two major sectors of similar size which provideeach; Ápproximately one third of total exports;
1. agro-industry, and
2. The industry of industrial origin.
In October 28, 2007 Cristina Fernandez waselected president of Argentina representing the political party “el frente para la victoria” which in English could be translated as “the front for victory”,the latter who was historically the first woman popularly elected in Argentina, and wife of Nestor Kirchner, to whom she succeeded on December 10, 2007.
Tangois a music style and dance that was born in the suburban of Buenos Aires, with international diffusion and strongly tied to Argentina and Uruguay, butparticularly with the city of Buenos Aires.
Argentine gastronomy is highlighted mainly for beef, milk and wine. The Production and consumption of milk is quiteimportant, which the country consumes 240 liters per person every year.
Among alcoholic drinks; wine is highlighted, of which Argentina is the fifth world producer.
