11. 2. WELDING PROCEDURE SPECIFICATION (WPS)

11.2.1. WPSs are written by the WE, the QCIshall monitor and record all actual essential and supplementary essential (if applicable) variables and supervise the welders during the welding of test coupons. Preparation and testing of the required specimens is performed to Section IX requirements by a testing laboratory. The test report submitted by the laboratory is reviewed by the QCM and if acceptable he prepares and certifies theProcedure Qualification Record (PQR).

11.2.2. Original copies of qualified WPS and PQR and laboratory test reports are maintained by the QCM. Copies of the WPS are provided to the Shop and Field Manager for use by the welders and welding operators.

11.3.2. The QCM issues each qualified welder a unique stamp with which they identify each weld they make at intervals of no more than one meter. When conditions prevent such stamping the QCI enters the welder stamp on the Weld Map (EIP-Annex C- Exhibit 9.1) for each weld they make.11.3.3.
