Association Aimed For HIT Careers
When choosing a professional career, among the many future goals included in our minds is professional advance. But in order to achieve it and to be successful, weneed to find potential tools that will assist us to stay up-to-date, as this is one way to improve the development of our skills within our chosen field. Fortunately, nowadays there many sources thatwe can count on and one of them are associations that can help us meet this objective. There are organizations specifically created for each field, such as the American Health Information ManagementAssociation, better known as AHIMA, which is exclusively aimed for Health Information Technician/Management careers.
The mission of this association is to be the professional community that improveshealthcare by advancing best practices and standards for health information management and the trusted source for education, research, and professional credentialing. By this, it is meant that thisorganization is formed by committed and serious people that share the same ideals when it comes to healthcare; make better methods that will enhance health information management and have a positiveimpact on education, research and the provision of the foundation for professional confidence.
Previously, it was mentioned the fact that at present times, we count with a wide range of associationslinked to the many existing professions; however, not all of them cover the national area. Luckily, this organization has a national coverage that includes a structure of state organizationsadditionally to Washington, DC and Puerto Rico named Component State Associations (CSAs), which offers their members local access to ongoing education and networking.
