“One Great Miracle”
As had happened many times before and still happens today, cultures compete over which has the best things to offer, the best things to sell, the best kind of people, and thebest culture after all. Well, that was the case here in Cajamarca, but this was a kind of internal struggle. People in the Andes thought that they were the original settlers of the land and that thepeople in the coast were not superior to them. Well, the coast, had most of the advantages to state that they were superior because they had better things involving technology, better architecture, betterservices for people; however, people in the Andes were not bad and they and nothing to envy the people in the coast, they were better religious people than the people in the coast, they were morehelpful than the people in the coast, and they were the ones that made almost every single food product and art work that the coast people had. Well there was a little difference in the religious partbetween both parts, the coast could import things from Spain and because of that they had better things to form part of their churches, like a beautiful virgin, which was the main attraction to thechurch. The people in Cajamarca were unpleased with this but, they had to wait a long time before they got a virgin Mary like that. They had to wait a very long time indeed, but at the end their prayerswere heard, and this is how our story will begin.
People from Cajamarca had been praying for a very long time to have a Virgin Mary to worship and to adorn their churches. One day, the small city ofCajamarca, saw the arrival of two travelers. These two travelers walked throughout the entire city and asked everyone, with no exception were was the church. Nine out of ten people answered them in agood mood and the left happy with the instructions of were to get there.
