Beowulf:
Two female characters:
* Queen Wealtheow: she was symbol of kingdom, she tells Beowulf the apppreciation se have for him and that he’s always welcome.
* Grendel’s mother:
*Poem: a monster that brings destruction to human.
* Movie: she is a femme fatale (archetype) ---> she can have ANY man and do ANYTHING she wants with him.
Grendel’s cave vegetation:
* It’s acold description, gray with rough vegetation and full of gold, jewelry and precious stones.
Meanings:
* Boon: blessing
* Weened: to think in sense of guess
* Combers: curled waves (olas)* Scather: monster, enemy, creatura
* Coil: trace
* Mere: lake, pond
* Bale: wood placed under the body before burning it
Grendel’s mother remaining alive symbolizes:
* Infinitysins (humans cannot conquer sin). Consequence of sins is monsters (Beowulf commit the sin of sex out of marriage and the result is the monster)
* Weakness for flesh (you can’t avoid certaintemptations ---> woman)
Symbol of gold cup:
* A horn that is closely related to Grendel’s mother.
* Symbolizes the queen.
Differences and similitude between Beowulf and Jesus Christ
* Bothface temptation
* Jesus didn’t fall
* Jesus resurrects because he didn’t commit sin, opposite from Beowulf, who dies.
* Jesus scarify for humans sins, Beowulf just for his sins.

* Gold cup: motif and foreshadowing (repetition of sins)
* Beowulf: cliché (handsome, big muscle, tempted by woman guy)
* Flashback: history of Breca and of the monsters hekill.
