Emiliano Zapata.
Emiliano Zapata was born in San Miguel Anenecuilco, Morelos on August 8, 1879, was one of the greatest military leaders during the Mexican Revolution, he commanded a large army during the Revolution, the Southern Liberation Army.
Also known as the "Leader of the South”, was the son of Gabriel Zapata and Cleofas Salazar, andwas born into a peasant family.
His childhood was accompanied by Jehoshaphat alongside Villa Martinez Diaz of landlordism in Morelos. Began his studies with Professor Emilio Vera, who had been an old soldier Juarez. Soon he worked as a farmer and drover. In 1906 he attended a meeting of farmers in Cuautla, to discuss how to defend against neighboring landowners of the village lands. In September 1909 Emiliano Zapata was elected calpuleque (Nahuatl word which means chief, leader or president) of the joint defense of the lands of Anenecuilco, she started to analyze documents thatoriginated in the Viceroyalty certifying the ownership of peoples over their lands, which had been denied by the reform laws, especially the Lerdo law forcing corporations to sell or be civil expropriated land fallow, which was why his time in support of indigenous leaders Tomas Mejia as conservative Mexican governments and the Second Mexican Empire. These laws also were used by several people toincrease their land illegally to request ownership of communal areas that people did not work. For this would become, thus, agrarian leader of Morelos in his home state. His first political appearance outside his rural world was in the election for governor of Morelos in 1909, when he supported the opposition candidate, Patricio Leyva, against the landowners, Pablo Escandon and Barron.
In May1910, recovered by force the lands of Villa de Ayala, who were protected by the police chief, Joseph A. Vivanco, and left in possession of the peasants. Pablo Torres Burgos was sent to America by Emiliano Zapata so he could interview with Francisco I. Madero. The result of this interview was the decision to take up arms by Emiliano Zapata and another 72 farmers and Juan Moreno, Rafael Moreno, Maurilio Mejia and Jose Vergara. This was done on March 10, 1911, when theyproclaimed the Plan de San Luis. He headed south, for it was pursued by Aureliano Blanquet and his battalion of soldiers. In this period of the Zapatista movement's battles stand Chinameca Jojutla Jonacatepec Tlayecac and Tlaquiltenango and the death of former leader of the Zapatista movement and Suriano, Pablo Torres Burgos, which even preceded the same Emiliano. On the death of it, Emiliano Zapata iselected by the revolutionary junta South in 1911, Madero's revolutionary new head south.
