This department have some of principal historical sites in the Colombian independence, there is the Pantanode Vargas this side is one of where there were battles between Granadinos and españoles from the Colombian Independence it was considered the most difficult battle which it gave a excellent victory toour army in this war, in this battle all the world saw the Courage and gallantry that we have, because with the commander Juan Jose Rondon and him 14 lancers fight versus the Spain army who went outfrom the side and very bad, also we have the most important monument in our history “EL PUENTE DE BOYACA” the side when all the braves men fight for them liberty and we can say in this moment we areColombian.
