CASH BUDGET PROJECT
FALL, 2012
INTRODUCTION
As discussed in class, the above mentioned project will be divided into three short sections;
- Cash receipt budget – Part 1
- Cashdisbursements budget – Part 2
- Master cash budget – Part 3
Correct CR and CD budgets will be distributed to students (after each budget is handed in) so that the master budget can be prepared withmaximum accuracy from the correct budgets.
REQ’D:
A cash receipts budget for the months of January, February and March 2013
Proper accounting double underlines and underlines should be usedwhere appropriate and meaningful.
Amounts should be rounded to the nearest dollar if applicable.
No dollar amounts should be scheduled for cash expected to be received outside the budget periodThe budget is to be submitted Wednesday, November 28 in class.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS
A sample skeleton form is attached to make it easier to complete the budget. There are, of course, otherformats and students may develop their own if they wish to do so.
A one page document discussing budgets is also attached for your study.
BUDGET INFORMATION
The following information applies tothe cash receipt budget
1. The budget is for each of the three months January 1, 2013 to March 31, 2013
2. The name of the business should be “your last name Inc”.
3. Monthly sales forOctober, 2012 to March, 2013 inclusive is expected to be $400,000; $600,000; $800,000; $300,000; $500,000; and $600,000 respectively
4. All sales are made on credit i.e. no cash sales
5.The pattern of collecting accounts receivable from a particular month’s sales is 30% in the month of the sale, and 50% and 20% respectively in the next two months following the sale.EXTRAS
6. The business expects to earn and receive $20,000, $30,000 and $40,000 service revenue for each month January to March 2013 inclusive....
