Good Morningmy name is Camila Gutierrez and i am the second speaker of the proposition team.
We believe that education should be free in Chile because since in Chile are high poverty rates and poor is almostimpossible for these young people get to college because they have to pay huge amounts of money to study and become professionals.
This is not fair! Why only some can study at universities? Why onlyhigh class people can manage to be professional? it´s a right to have quality education regardless of social class.
Why poor people do not have the same facilities and opportunities to study andachieve get ahead in life?
Over 35% of young Chileans can not afford college so they should start working in an environment that is not easy to get a job without a college degree.
Another 15%, aminority, is awarded state grants which allow them to study long as you keep good grades.
Many students have to work and study at the same time so that almost no rest and not healthy for them physically orpsychologically be exposed to that kind of stress.
So I find it more than necessary for education in Chile is free for everyone to have the opportunity to become professionals in the future and thusimprove our country.

Another important reason is by paying for a quality education . it encourage students to mantain good grades, because if you fail any subject students will have topay even more.
Today Approximately 23 % of students gain entry to universities through scholarships funded by the goverment, wich is a reward for the effort they made.
