Dear Mark:
Thank you very much for your last letter. So far I getting used to living here. It is a beautiful place. And the house is not so bad too. It sounds to be a quiet life there in the farm.
Here at the house, we are still settling in with our stuff. For me, is difficult to get used to the house but I think I will be ok. I am going to paint my room tomorrow and a friend is going to helpme. Her name is Sara and we know each other from the school. For lucky she is so nice and we made friends. The school is fine, but I am getting used. Then in the afternoons I go to the swimming-pool to swim for a while. At the nights I eat with my family and then I go to sleep early because the following day I have to get up early to go to the school.
Yes of course I remember. That is amazing.Thank you for your invitation. I would love to go in the summer and help you with the harvest. I wanna go back in the summer, because I want to visit my grandparents too. So I am going to wait anxiously for the summer.
Well, I have to go back to my studies. I have so many homework and things to do by tomorrow. Please write me back and tell me how still the things there are.

¿Cuántos tipos de cartas/emails hay?
Hay, al menos, cuatro tipos de cartas/emails:
1) Cartas/emails formales (a organizaciones, instituciones, empresas)
2) Cartas/emails semiformales (a organizaciones, instituciones, empresas)
3) Cartas/emails informales (a amigos, o parientes)
4) Cartas formales de solicitud detrabajo (a empresas)
¿Qué es importante respecto a las cartas/emails?
Lo más importante es demostrar que conoces los diferentes tipos de registros, según el tipo de carta o email que tengas que escribir.
¿Qué quiere decir diferentes registros?
Igual que no hablas igual a un amigo, que un desconocido; cuando escribes, escribes manera a un amigo, que a un jefe, por ejemplo. En español, esexactamente igual.
Por ejemplo: a un amigo le puedes decir: "Hola Juan ¿Qué tal?" (Hi John, How are you doing? ) y a un desconocido le dirás "Estimado Sr. Barro" (Dear Mr Barro).

¿Cuáles son las características típicas de un email o carta informal?
Contracciones: Ejemplo: It isn't what you think it's what you do.
Frases cortas: Ejemplo: I'mbusy with a project.
Expresiones coloquiales: Ejemplo: How are you doing? en lugar de How do you do?
Phrasal verbs: Ejemplo: When are you going to come over? en lugar de "When are you going to visit me?
Connectors: As, but...
Exclamaciones: Good luck!

Nota: El tipo de carta o email informal que te haránescribir, irá dirigido a amigos (generalemente de otro país) y generalmente (aunque no siempre) versará sobre recomendaciones sobre visitas, excursiones, comidas, restaurantes, etc.
Write letter/email to a friend
You have received an email from a pen friend inviting you for a visit in autumn. Write an email to your pen friend accepting the invitation, asking what clothes and presents you shouldbring, and suggesting something you would like to do.
Write your email. Do not write any addresses.
Número de palabras: 120 a 150 palabras si te toca en la primera parte y hasta 180 si el ejercicio está en la segunda parte del writing. No importa si sobrepasas un poco este número (pero solo un poco).
Tiempo: En total son 80 minutos para todo el writing. Como consiste en dos partes,recomiendo 40 minutos para cada parte, aunque puede que la segunda parte te cueste un poco más. En ese caso, piensa en dedicarle más tiempo a la segunda parte que a la primera.
Puntuación: Todo el writing (Part 1 & 2 equivalen al 20% del examen).
