CHAPTER 1
1.Where could you often find Jonah at the end of the afternoon, and what was he doing?
You could find Jonah in the big parking lot behind Newfield High School, and he was skating.
2.Another boy was watching Jonah. What did he do?
He stood waiting between two pared cars, when Jonah came near him.
3.Who were The Skaters?
They were a group of students atNewfield High.

CHAPTER 2
1.What did Jonah do in his room on Saturday evening?
He put all his skating equipment on his bed. He even cleaned them with soap. Finally, he put everything into his shorts bag and left the room.
2.What made Newfield Centre perfect for skating?
Its smooth surface was perfect for skating.
3.Why didn´t Kevin and Rob want Jonah to join The Skaters?
Because he´s nothingspecial, and our group is fine as it is. They don´t need anyone else.
4.What was Jerry´s idea and what did he want Jonah to do?
He do skating test. He can skate down that big hill by the lake in the park, the dangerous one with the sharp bend at the bottom.
5.What did Jonah do when he came to a) the difficult part of the hill and
b) the bottom of the hill?
a) He concentrated and jumped overit.b) He bent his knees, turned cleverly with the bend in the road and stopped in front of the Skaters.

CHAPTER 3
1.What two things did Mr Bird get excited about?
He had two passions in his life maths and motorbikes.
2.What did Mr Bird tell the class after he wrote a list on the blackboard?
He said that everyone chose one and they would go to the computers room.
3.Why were there shorts ofsurprise in the computer room and what did Mr Bird do?
Because seven of twenty computers in the room didn´t work. He phoned Tyler, school´s computer technician.
4.How did Tyler meet Mr Bird and what was his job now?
Tyler was the best and most difficult student in Mr Bird´s maths class. He was responsable for the entire computer sistema at Newfield High.
5.In Tyler´s opinion, what has happenedto the computers, and what is his explanación of a CPU?
Someone stole the CPU’s. They are like the brain of the computers.

CHAPTER 4
1.In Lisa´s opinion, why was Tyler the thief? Why didn´t Bill agree?
She thinks that the thief was Tyler because he got the key’s for the computers room.
2.Why wasn´t Jonah paying attention to his friends?
Because he was looking to the girl that was in frontof him.
3.Why did Jonah look upset when Steve laughed?
Because he didn’t like all this talk about Mr. Bird.

CHAPTER 5
1.What did Jonah know about the new girl?
He only knew that she came from France and spoke French and English.
2.What do we know about Alison´s opinions of other people?
People were always accepted by the other students.
3.What did Jonah discover during the luna break,and how did he react?
Jonah discovered that cheese doesn´t always taste as bad as it smells.
4.Why wasn´t Valérie upset about Alison?
Because Alison is popular today, but next month she may not be popular any.

CHAPTER 6
1.What did Nick do when he came to the parking lot?
Nick stopped at the entrance. He saw Jonah skating and he saw Valérie watching.
2.In his e-mail, what did Jonah inviteValérie to do, and why?
He invited her to go to Skate Thing because he wanted to ask her something.
3.What did Valérie do when they were leaving the cafeteria, and what did she want Jonah to do?
Valérie gave him a small piece of paper. She must tell him something important.
4.How was Nick going to get the reward?
He was going to find some clues and solve the misterio.

CHAPTER 7
1.Whatquestions did Jonah want to ask about teenage crime?
How many crimes were committed by teenagers each year? Was there any connection between crime and poverty? Were only teenagers from poor families commiting crimes, or also teenagers from well-off families? And what about young people from broken homes?
