DOMAIN CONTEXT
“Cloud computing is amodel for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction. This cloud model promotes availability and is composed of five essential characteristics, three servicemodels, and four deployment models”. 1 “Cloud computing refers to both the applications delivered as services over the Internet and the hardware and systems software in the data centers that provide those services.”2

Cloud computing is a model that deliversapplications and hardware infrastructure as a service. The end user doesn’t know where the data, applications and servers are, because they are in the “cloud” and the way he access to those services is transparent.

The cloud computing services are becoming more popular and many companies in theworld are using this model for their IT solutions. It is due to its flexibility, scalability, transparency, agility and in the most of the cases the inexpensive way to do it.

Characteristics
1. On-demand self-service: A consumer can ask for capabilities, such a server time and network storage without requiring human interaction with each service’s provider. 2. Broad network: Capabilities areavailable over the network and accessed through standard mechanisms using different client platforms. 3. Rapid elasticity: Capabilities can be rapidly and elastically provisioned, in some cases automatically. The user in some cases will think he has unlimited services. 4. Measured Service: Resource usage can be monitored, controlled, and reported, providing transparency for both the provider andconsumer of the utilized service. 5. Cost: reduces the cost of infrastructure in your company, this model uses the pay as you go way. 6. Allow the employees of a company to work anywhere they want and user the different devices to connect to the company’s applications. 7. Maintenance of cloud computing applications is easier, because they do not need to be installed on each user's computer and can...
