Cold War and its influence on domestic and international politics

Everyone knows something about the Cold War, but what was it really? We know it was an interesting, mysterious and one of the mostimportant wars in history, but it was more than just that. I can say that it was the relationship that developed primarily the USA and the USSR after World War II. More exactly, the Cold War was thecontinuing state from roughly 1946 to 1991 of political conflict, military tension, proxy wars, and economic competition between the Communist World and the powers of the Western world.
The Cold Warhad a big impact mainly in culture, politics and economics in so many ways. In this essay I am going to focus only in its influence on politics, including domestic and international. To understandbetter what I will be talking about, I can say that at the end of the World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union became into two very big enemies, because the decolonization by Europeancountries and the withdrawal of Axis forces of occupied lands left a vacuum of power in Europe and around the world.
The USA wanted capitalism while the Soviet Union was in favor of communism. Both sideswanted to expand or contain. George Kennan, a Foreign Service officer formulated the policy of ‘containment’ in July 1947, which said: “US would not get rid of communism, but would not allow it tospread”. All this conflict had two terrible consequences: The Cuban Missile Crisis (that it could become a World War III) and the Vietnam War. Honestly, if I had lived in that period, I would be in theside of the capitalists because I have never liked communism, I think it controls the people a lot.
The Cold War affected principally the policy of the United States. Its domestic policy because itwas starting to support business as well as expanding the middle class became popular ideas; it also saw a rise in popularity of Suburbs and a growth in the white-collar work force. Also, Cold War...
