The color correction session is the first step in the delivery of a final productwith all the quality and creativity that our clients expect. This is where the final look of the material is created and this look is carried throughout the finishing touches of the commercial. The keyto a session that runs efficiently and on-time is the experience and training of the colorist. A trained colorist can deliver results in less time than someone who only does color correctionoccasionally and is not dedicated full-time to color correction. A trained colorist can also make informed decisions about how to best work with the material delivered by the production company and how toachieve the results that creativeʼs want. A professional colorist is not only trained in color science, illumination techniques and the nuances of film stocks, but has had the opportunity to work withmay directors and DPʼs absorbing their knowledge and experience and sharing his extensive training with them. This experience allows the colorist to contribute to the overall vision of the projectand in many cases improve on the suggestions of the director, DP or creatives. A casual colorist can only achieve so much and in many cases, accidentally.
