They have made cell phone users available anytime and anywhere In addition, with text messaging, theway in which people communicate has changed. Cell phones make it easier to keep in touch with family members and friends that live in other parts of the country or world they have made driving in carssubstantially more dangerous. Finally they have changed the rules of etiquette in society
First, the mobility of cell phones has necessarily made it easier to contact someone regardless of where theyare at the time. In the past if someone was not at home or at their office, you could not talk to them. You had to leave a message and wait for them to call back. Now however, you can talk to someoneif he or she is at the doctor’s office the grocery store, or at school.
Secondly, text messaging through cell phones also has changed the way people communicate with each other. Rather than speakingto someone, you can simply type a message on your cell phone for immediate delivery this feature is especially popular with teenagers, but I am concerned that the social effects of this mode ofcommunication could have consequences. Incorrect spelling and grammar in these text messages is encouraged, expected, and even necessary. If people spend too much time sending text messages, perhaps theireveryday writing will be affected.
Next, unlimited long distance plans have made it easier and more affordable to keep in touch with out-of-town family and friends. In the past, if you had familymembers that lived in another city, state, or country, traditional land-based phone lines would charge you for each minute you spent on the long distance call.
