In today´s society teenagers have been making an impact in our community. Unfortunately, as the years go by teenagers are being raced in an environmentwith more violence, insecurity and without morals. All this aspects are causing a tremendous increase in crimes. Every time I used to watch a story about a crime, my first thoughts were that theauthorities were cruel, unfair and ruthless. At the time that I saw the news in KVEO NBC 23 – Rio Grande Valley the report of ¨Student killed at Cummings Middle School Shooting¨, I had a radical changed onthe use of violence, now I understand that sometimes there are no limits for the use of violence as long as doing good.
Violence is horrible, but in certain cases there is no other choice left. Amale 8th grade student made a serious error of brandished a weapon into a public school. When they give the call to the authorities, the police officers tried to use the least aggression against thestudent to make things easier. By the time that the student refused and disobeyed the police officers had to take more drastic measurements. The situation concluded in a shooting, since the studentengaged the officers. The student was shot three times in a chest and he died. For many people and me at first this situation was unfair, but has things were clarified we understood that the police didthe right thing. I understand that the student had only fifteen years, but at that age one can understand the consequences of their actions.
Violence is an act of cruelty and it could bepreventable in some cases. At the time that a person puts people in risk there should not be any consideration. A student carrying a weapon to school immediately put at risk many people, this is asituation where violence is used against one or put in risk many people.
