NURSE: Hello. Miss Perez. I'm your nurse Castañeda.
How are you feeling today?

PATIENT: Better, thank you.

NURSE: That´s great. I´mgoing to take your pulse, temperature and blood pressure. Is that Ok?

PATIENT: Sure

NURSE: First, let´s your temperature and pulse. Please place this thermometer under your tongue. At the sametime, I'm going to take your pulse.
Great¡ Your temperature is 37 ºC and pulse is 85 beats per minute are normal
Now, let's take your blood pressure.

PATIENT: Ok.

NURSE:Take a couple deep breaths. I´m going to place this cuff around your arm.
It will be a little tight. Please relax.
Ok. Your blood pressure is 110 (one -ten) over 80 are fine.
We´re all finished

GIVING A SHOT

NURSE: Good morning Ms. Julon
How are you feeling today?

PATIENT: A little sick with fever. Thedoctor told me you was going to put a shot
I have a bit scary

NURSE: Don’t worry. We’re going to take good care of you.
Ok now. I’m going to give you an injection. Would you sethere, please?

PATIENT: Ok

NURSE: Could you show me your arm?
(The patient rolls up his shirt)
I’m going to clean the area where the shot was given him with alcohol andcotton.
This might be a little cold.
(The nurse disinfects the injection site)
I need you to relax your arm. Try not to move and don’t tense up.

PATIENT:I’m sorry. I don’t like shots.

NURSE: If you feel dizzy or nauseous. Please tell me
This is going to hurt a little. Will feel a pinch
(The nurse administers theinjection)
Don’t feel any tingling or discomfort?

PATIENT: No.

NURSE: There. All done
