Dreams and Concerns of a
19 year old Puerto Rican Girl

We live in a time that if you don’t go to every party, drink, have sex or even use drugs means that you are boring with no life. WellI think completely different, I believe that at my age, 19 years old girls should worry more about our future and not about getting drunk and being with whichever guy that there is. We shouldknow how to separate one thing from the other. That’s why I think that young girls are using drugs and get nowhere in life due to peer-pressure. Some of my concerns are that s lot of young people areworried more about how people see them , if they go to every party or even drink and get drunk and before you know it they end up with nothing in the future. One of my dreams is Finish Collegeand being somebody. Also, being in the Air Force that’s one of my mayor dreams that I would like to achieve.
One of my dreams is to finish college. I think that finishing college is veryimportant because I’ll have a better future for me and for my kids someday. Some girls are studying, but that’s not what they worry about most, they pay attention more to what other people think and howthe society sees them. Many girls don’t know how to appreciate the liberty that their parents give them. Lots of girls my age like to go out to impress different guys, get drunk all the time andthey just don’t care, and on top of that they ruin their reputation. I see myself very different from other young girls like me. I know how to have fun, but everything has a limitation. I know howto separate one thing from the other. I believe that our parents teach us good things and young people just don’t listen, they think that because they’re of age they have the world in their handsand could do whatever they want however they want and that’s why our society is how it is. We should put our feet on the ground and think about our mayor responsibility and do what’s right for us.
