Do expressions of nationalism create a sense of nation among Canadians?
Canada is made up of nationalism, without which we would not be a whole country. To this day we arestill growing to express our sense of belonging. There are many ways that we show how proud we are to be Canadian. One very important national day is Canada Day, on whicheveryone in the entire nation comes together to celebrate that we have become a county to be proud of and stand up for its beliefs. Unlike other country’s Canada is very well known forits outstanding health care and other such benefits that a lot of other places do not have. We also have a government that follows through on what they say and no one’s voiceis left unheard even if their opinion is not fan of a lot of people. Canada is known as peacekeepers throughout the world not just in wars but for helping out in man-made andnatural disasters also. Another example is how multicultural we as Canadians are. We have open borders and open minds to other nations immigrating to and cultures in our country.Some of the people who have moved here have ethnic ties to this land weather is be ancestry, characteristics, family ties, history or even the language. They have this sense ofbelonging because they are able to connect with an experience that shows nationalism. There are always accommodations for people who do not speak French or English. Besideslanguage accommodations we have tons of rich culture of all backgrounds. There are street celebrations and art displays all over the world. We are always growing towards future goalsof improving our country, such as becoming more environmental by working on our carbon footprint. Together as a country we are proud as ever to stand up as a Canadian nation.
