Fossil and Renewable Fuels,
a Hard Decision to be Made

Since the last decade, the world has been talking about global warming and the consequences it brings. After all the discussions a judgmenthas been made, and fossil fuels are to blame. As a consequence, everybody is asking, why do we keep using the old fashioned fossil fuels instead of the renewable ones? Te problem is that it is commonto think that they are very different from each other, but the truth is that they both have advantages and disadvantages.
Renewable fuels contribute to keeping the world balanced. There is no fearabout depleting them because they are renewed naturally. On the other hand, we have petroleum and the rest of the fossil fuels that are depleting the planet’s energy resources. Every year, new oilplatforms are put into operation at sea, because almost all the oil fields are depleted.
When we say inexhaustible it sounds like it is free. But the problem is that renewable fuels are not. It costsmuch more money for the people to buy a solar panel than to pay the service from the electricity company, and it will remain this way for a couple of years until the technology gets developed. Howeverone of the advantages of fossil fuels is their cheap price. The technology necessary to work using gasoline and diesel has been settled since the industrial revolution and nobody has to take care aboutit for now.
The gift of our ancestors – fossil fuels – is generating modern problems. The problem with the green house effect increases is basically because of the pollution created by fossil fuels.In the same way, nuclear power – which is considered as a renewable fuel – is now the most rejected source of energy because of the danger involved in it. Now we should think which is more dangerous,pollution or nuclear radiation?
Differences and similarities of fossil and renewable fuels show us that a change in the way we use fuels is not easy at all. Both options have advantages and...
