The path for reaching our dreams or desire turns life very difficult, the essence of this play is to show us that not always you are able to reach happiness. This means that actions sometimes arehumans needs for survive. Through this essay I would show the concern of four characters: Mitch, Stella, Stanley and Blanche about their own survival. Firstly I would show a quick introduction of eachcharacter, these would allow me to introduce and related the characters with the topic presented in this essay.
Stanley have a very peculiar personality that is describe as a very strong, rude,aggressive, ladies men and also he is consider as a beast that always is bellowing as the book mentions. The needs presented by this character are women in first place; this means it has to involve controlover them and the action of sex. As the story goes on we could observe that the need of women is calm down by the presence of Stella that is Stanley’s wife. This means he have Stella in hispossession being able to control and order her anything desire. Stella mostly is treated as a maid that has to satisfied Stanley’s necessities like sex or maintain the house. So in the case of Stanley relatedto its needs, there are accomplished by the attitude he have against people and its strong personality. He is able to obtain women like Stella and Blanche even if they opposed to him and also he isable to have recreation with friends.
The accomplishments of needs are not shown in the case of Blanche. Instead she isn’t able to accomplish the needs she requires to survive. This occur becauseBlanche past is very dark and with negative action. She is known to be a prostitute and committed certain action with men to obtain shelters. This action from the past affects her relationships andprevents to accomplish her needs to survive.
