“SOPHIE’S WORLD”

I want to start this essay by saying that I really liked this movie, maybe because I have not read the book yet or maybe because I just simply liked it, we may never know, just like philosophy, it is well known that there is no explanation to the question “where does the world come from?” .
It is avery simple question but at the same time it is a very complex question, a question for what some philosophers have lived and sometimes even given his life for.
Sophie’s world, at least for me it was a very ingenious method or way to show the world the complexity of life, that no one has written paper with their destiny or their role in this life and in the world, it is said that the firstquestion and this one “Who are you?” can only be answered by a so called REVELATION, but honestly we must also ask ourselves, Whom, what or how is this revelation going to show up but let’s take Sophie’s case, she indeed had role to fulfill, but how can we know that?, by understanding the metaphor underneath the movie and in the book and she was not the only one involved in this whole charade.
Tounderstand the metaphor I think I am in the need of explaining one the main characters role of this movie/book, this character is named Albert Knox.
Who is Albert Knox? Based in the movie I can say that he was a person obviously, he was a dog commonly as the men best friend, a very intelligent person, in my perspective a bit naïve and frightened grown up, scared of one of the other main characters,he is a also a very close and faithful friend to Sophie, he plays the role of the messenger, but most of all a character, I’ll get to that a bit later.
Albert Knox is the one sent by a “special” person to teach Sophie almost everything about and joins her to a funny as well as entertaining journey of knowledge time traveling around the world, because that is his main purpose, his role, hisreason.
What I found very interesting about him is that in the movie he takes the form of a dog, I really find that very puzzling or maybe is just me and my imagination but if he could take animal forms, it might not a bit crazy that he may have been one of the birds at the start of the movie triggering Sophie’s questions about the world and so on. Or maybe not only as a animal, for example at themoment that when Sophie is with her friend in the attic playing a very weird game, suddenly the candles that were on, in second with an awkward breeze of cold air makes the candles off, I found that very cool because it is a very complex character that you can’t really be sure in what precise moments he was or what he was doing.
I can also add that Albert Knox was Sophie’s teacher, his mentor, hisguide through a journey of thousands of year, showing her a world that without his help she might have never known or met in a lifetime.
We need to be aware that Albert Knox is also the trigger of the questions, but like a said before I needed to explain who Albert Knox was in order to speak about this another character, the very famous Mayor.
Who is this Mayor? According to Albert Knox at somepoint in the movie/book this Mayor was considered kind of like a GOD, because he was omnipresent, he was able to see everything that Knox and Sophie were doing, to where they travel, what they see, what they do but the most shocking is that he thought he controlled everything, unlike Sophie, she realized that even the Mayor could be fooled or deceived, a very naïve thinking in my opinion.
Becausethat was merely impossible, the moment of the truth is here, the thing behind the movie or metaphor is that Sophie and Knox were part of a book, and the Mayor was his author, when Sophie and Knox got aware of it they were extremely shocked, they just couldn’t believe that, but t was all true, the Mayor was a military man that was writing a book to his daughter that looked a lot like Sophie, in...
