Euthanasia
Opponents of euthanasia thinkthat the practice of it is like interfering with doctors’ job of saving and protecting humans’ lives. However, this argument is not valid. The way doctors “save” lives is engaging patients to a livesupport machine. It is wrong to keep people alive beyond their natural life span. When the time to die of a person is determinate, anybody can not do anything to avoid it. Moreover, the use ofmachines to keep people alive is inhuman: How can a machine replace a vital organ of the human body? Therefore, doctors’ job of keeping humans alive is not a good method to save a life.
Another argumentadvanced by opponents is that euthanasia is not a benefit for the patients who suffer incurable illnesses since they would die. However, they say this because they are not the ones who aresuffering. A patient who has an incurable illness knows how painful the treatments are. With euthanasia, we can save them from pain. Therefore, euthanasia is a benefit for patients who have incurableillnesses.
Finally, opponents of euthanasia believe that it interferes with religion. They say: “God is the only one who can end with people’s life.” However, everyone has the right to decide what to dowith their lives. If patients choose euthanasia, it is because they do not want to continue suffering. We all have to respect their opinions. Everyone has the right to decide when they want to die....
