Interview
First story:
(00:01)JS: so, hello Dave I want to talk about all the trips that you were doing during all your life, I want to start ehhknowing how was your first trip? When you were here or something like that.(00:18)
(00:19)DS: my firt trip that I ever took?aahhm but, I guess that it depends whatyou talk about, cause… I mean, what you define as a trip, because I gone on trips with my family, I would said my first trip, (sigh) my real first trip was in aahh siiixx grade maybe, and my dad brought me to California actually to San Diego for the first time to visit my sister and that was my first trip. Actually kind of been out of the state of Minnesota or than Wisconsin which isreally close by… that was a, that was life changing for me I think, because at the time, skateboarding and which I am really, really in to, was really happening here in San Diego and so, caming here was like a makeup, everything was going on, I got see things for, for the first time, you know the progression of the skateboarding, so for me was one of the most inspirational trips ever, Ilearn a lot and That kind of let the fire for me personally for the skateboarding… and that was a weeklong trip, was my first time in the ocean and was pretty incredible, was everything that I expected to be and much more.(01:35)
(01:38)JS:how much time ehhm did you spend here during that trip?(01:40)
(01:42)DS: how much time do I beenhere?(JS: yeah) For a week and you know part of the time was doing sightseen stuff with my dad, you know visiting my sister you know, but almost every day sneak away, you know go skateboarding and meet with people that lived near where my sister lived and they’re super welcome and we were just skate together, it was awesome you know it was my first taste of California.(02:07)
(02:07)JS:is your sister interest in skateboarding?(02:10)
(02:11)DS:was my sister? No, my sister lived down here for, you know she been living here for 5 year for that point, she married a Navy seal and navy seals are largely ahhm stationary here so, that’s why she stayed here.(02:28)
JS: did your father like eehhmm skate board?Dave: Aaahh!! He was pretty supported about it,aahhm I wouldn’t said that he liked, he liked that I enjoyed, you know amm you know he bought me my first real skateboard and you know he build my first rap… and that… he watched me sometimes when, if I do a competition, but, you know I would said that he was pretty supported but you know he didn’t do themselves.(02:57)
