First Time Driving a Car


When I was sixteen years old it was the first time I drove a car. I wanted to meet somefriends at the theater but my parents or my brother were there to take me. I really wanted to go but I realized that I couldn’t call one of my friends because all of them were at the theater. Then, I sawone of my dad’s cars parked in the garage and an idea came to me. If I could drive, I can just take myself to the theater. So I decided to take my dad’s car.
The first thing I had to do waslook for the keys to his car. He had a lot of keys so I spent a long time going through his things trying to find it. When I finally found it, I nervously walked to the car. I still remember the way itlooked as I approached it. It was a blue Subaru without a single speck of dirt on it. I stood for five minutes deciding whether or not to go inside and take the car. When I finally made up my mind thatI would, I quickly open the door and got inside.
However, before driving to the theater I gave a short drive to figure how to use the clutch. It was a good thing I did that because I make a bigmistake when I took the hand break off. I backed out of the house really good but my problem was controlling the car. I first drove while holding the wheel straight and just practice with theacceleration and the clutch. Sometimes I would put too much force and the car would jump forward and sometimes I didn’t.
When I got to the theater all my friends was staring at me. I got out of the carand all of them ask me “That’s your new car?” I say no it’s just for tonight. We got inside the room and we start watching the movie. When the movie was over I saw the time and it was ten ó clock. Istart the car and drove home. When I saw that my parents had returned early I imagine the worst thing. I park the car in the garage and got inside the house with my head down.
