All cargo operation must be planned and documented before their execution. The details of theplans must be discussed with all personnel, both on the ship and the terminal. Some safety checklists should be made or completed prior any cargo operations they could be the following:

LOADING OPERATION

The responsibility for safe cargo handling operations is shared between the ship and the terminal. Beforestarting to load, the responsible officer and the terminal representative must formally agree that both the tanker and the terminal are ready to do so safely.
