The Gaza border is a very controversial territory between egypt and israel since the Six Day War in 1967. Palestinians and Israelis have been fighting for years to get this part of land and as the years pass the battles and the people dying have been intensifying.
This war is affecting the image of Israel just because the news dont understandwhat Israel is trying to do keeping the blockade closed, this as well is affecting the jew community around the world. People think that israeli people are jews, but thats not true, in Israel lives all type of religion.
We can see that this not true because after 22 days of fighting, Israel took the decision of seizing the
fire but at the same time asked to remain there without fighting. Hamasdeclared that they will not stop the battle unless Israeli army re threw his troops.
The palestinians hide their bombs and their arms in schools and in innocent places just for the Israeli Army to shoot and send their misils to this places; doing this as defense, Israel looks like a completely danger and unconscious country to the world.
In 2005 Ariel Sharon left the Gaza Strip in command of thepalestinians and withdrew all type of israeli command.
During 2008 – 2009 winter The Gaza War started, was a three week armed conflict.
Israel began a military offensive against the Gaza Strip on December 27, 2008.Israeli forces attacked military targets, police stations and government buildings. Hamas intensified its rocket and mortar attacks against Southern Israel, reaching the major cities ofBeersheba and Ashdod for the first time and in January a ground invasion began.
On January 5, Israeli Defense Forces began operating in populated urban centers of Gaza. Throughout the following week, Israel mostly hit targets it had damaged previously and struck Palestinian rocket-launching units. The war ended on January 18, when Israel first declared a unilateral ceasefire, followed by Hamasannouncing a one-week ceasefire twelve hours later. Israel completed its withdrawal on January 21.

In September 2009, a UN special mission, produced a controversial report accusing both Palestinian militants and Israeli Defense Forces of war crimes and possible crimes against humanity, and recommended bringing those responsible to justice and in 2010 Israel made a complain about the reportalready done of this investigation. Israel explains his motives and the truth of everything also "Israel said that the attack was a response to Hamas rocket attacks on southern Israel, which totaled over 3,000 in 2008, and which intensified during the few weeks preceding the operation"

Efects in Israel
There are multiple humanitarian, medical, economic, and industrial effects of the 2008-2009 GazaWar on 27 December 2008 and ended on 18 January.
The cease-fire followed twenty-two days of bombardment by land, sea and air which left over 1,300 Palestinians dead and over 5,000 injured, and the death of 13 Israelis. The United Nations Development Programe warned that there will be long-term consequences of the attacks on Gaza because the livelihoods and assets of tens of thousands of Gazacivilians have been affected.
Economy
Extensive destruction was caused to commercial enterprises and to public infrastructure.
According to Palestinian industrialists, 219 factories were destroyed or severely damaged during the Israeli military operation. Of the three percent of industrial capacity that was still operating after the 18-month Israeli blockade, much has now been destroyed. Thebiggest Palestinian food-processing plant, Alweyda was devastated, as were both Abu Eida, the largest ready-mixed concrete producer, with four factories demolished, and the Al Badr flour mills, with the biggest storage facilities in the Strip.
