2. Starting a Simulation
1. 2. Select the New Case button. Select the Add button from the Simulation Basis Manager.

This group contains all the available Property Packages.

Filter List

Use this button to Import a Fluid Package stored on disk.

Select the components for the case.

Close the property view to return to the Basis Manager andpress the Enter Simulation Environment button to build your simulation.

Provide any additional required information inside the Fluid Package:

• Parameters - pure component/property package information. • Binary Coefficients - examine, supply, or estimate binaries. • Stability Test - define method to be used for phase stability calculations. • Reactions - attach Reaction Sets. • Tabular -turn on equation-based representation of properties. • Notes - document the Fluid Package.

Install Streams and Operations.

3. Installing Streams and Operations
Hot Key Object Palette Streams F11 Double click on the Material or Energy Stream Icon. Press the Add Material or Add Energybutton. In the **New** cell on a Material Streams or Energy Streams Workbook page, type in the new stream name. 1.3.4 - Installing Streams in the HYSYS User’s Guide Operations

Double click on the Operation Icon. Press the Add button to open the UnitOps selection dialog. In the **New** cell on an Operation Workbook page, type in the new operation name. On the default Unit Opspage, select the Add UnitOp button. 1.3.5 - Installing Operations in the HYSYS User’s Guide

Object Palette
The Object Palette can be used to install streams and operations directly into HYSYS.You can open or close the Palette with the F4 Hot Key.

Installing Multiple Streams or Operations of One Type
(Use Modal Property Views must be Off under Preferences.) 1. 2. 3. 4. Click on the Lock button at the top of the Palette. With the left mouse, click on the Icon for the Stream or Operation you want to install. Select the Add button to install the stream or operation. Repeat step #3 asmany times as is necessary.

Installing a Single Stream or Operation
1. or 1. 2. Click on the Icon with the primary mouse button. Click on the Add button Double click on the appropriate button.

To deactivate the chosen Object button when in the locked mode, press the Cancel button. Refer to the HYSYS User’s Guide, Section 1.3.3 - Object Palette for more information.
