Resumen
Cualquierprofesional de las tecnologías de la información, y los desarrolladores
de software lo somos, debe tener unos conocimientos básicos de Historia de la
Informática. Conocer cuándo, cómo y porqué surge esta disciplina y cuáles han
sido los principales hechos que han ocurrido en su corta pero vertiginosa
historia, sobre todo en nuestro país, que aún estando bloqueado supo
sobreponerse y abrirse mundo enel mercado del software.
La Historia de la Informática es la historia de personas que han cambiado la
tecnología misma, creándola o redefiniéndola, desarrollando nuevas maneras de
afrontar problemas y nuevas herramientas para hacerles frente.
Podemos aprender mucho de la Historia de la Informática, de las empresas que
han marcado una época para luego desaparecer o empequeñecerse, de
inventosbrillantes y de rotundos fracasos.
Cuba es uno de los países que más dificultades ha tenido en el mundo para
asumir la informática como instrumento general de trabajo, y en particular, como
medio para el desarrollo de la educación y la inteligencia. Incluidos en esta
problemática figuran aspectos relacionados con la presión, persecución y
sabotaje de las gestiones cubanas para establecercontactos y adquirir
equipamiento apropiado desde sus inicios. La introducción de virus, y la
marginación tecnológica y comercial, han sido una constante contra los
programas aplicados a estos objetivos. Los cubanos hemos avanzado, la
informática ha tenido un gran impacto económico, político y social. Grandes
avances se han abierto paso en la salud, la banca, la industria, el turismo y otrossectores.
Summary
Any professional of the technologies of the information, and the software
developers, like us, should have some basic knowledge of History of the
Computer science. To know when, how and the reason of why arises this
discipline and which have been mainly the main facts that have happened in its
short but vertiginous history, in our country that it have being blocked trough allthese years, it still knew how to overcome and to open up into the market of the
software development.
The Computer science's History is the history of people that have changed
technology itself, creating it or redefining it, developing new ways to confront
problems and new tools to make them front.
We can learn a lot from the Computer science's History, of the companies that
have marked atime it stops then to disappear or to dwarf, of brilliant inventions
and of firm failures.
Cuba is one of the countries that more difficulties have had in the world to
assume the computer science as a working general instrument, and in particular,
like a way for the development of the education and the intelligence. Included in
this problem figure aspects related with the pressure,persecution and sabotage
of the Cuban administrations to establish contacts and to acquire appropriate
equipment from their beginnings. The virus introduction, and the technological
and commercial exclusion, they have been a constant against the applied
programs to these objectives. The Cubans have advanced; the computer science
has had a great economic, political and social impact. Big advances haveopened up a way in the health, the banking, the industry, the tourism and other
sectors too.
