CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF THE DISCOVERY OF AMERICA
For almost a thousand years, European had mostly remained in one area of the world, but after the fifteenth century theyset out remarkable series of oversea journeys. This caused that European had long attracted to Asia. Marco polo traveled to china, with this experience he wrote his book”the travels”, Christopher Columbus read the book “the travels”, he was fascinated by the exotic east.
After this Columbus needed to found other routes to go easier to Indiafor species. Another reason for the overseas voyages: religious zeal, Hernan Cortes and many people must ensure that the natives are introduced in to the holy catholic faith.They had three motives god, glory and gold.
After the discovery of America European monarchies increased the power of their resources. Europeans also reaised the levelsof technology.
This was especially true in the economic arena. Wherever they went, Europeans sought gold and silver. Their bodies swelled with greed; they want the gold andsilver deposits found in Mexico and Peru. Colonists established plantations to raise sugar, cotton, vanilla, livestock and other products introduced to the Americas forexport to Europe. Agricultural products like potatoes, cocoa, corn, and tobacco.
The exchange of animals and plants between the both worlds known as the Columbianexchanged, transformed the economic activity. The Spanish established in Philippines islands, their ships carried silver from Mexico to the Philippines and returned to Mexico withsilk and other luxury goods.
