EXISTENCIA:
En ingles existen 2 formas para preguntar existencia (hay), la primera corresponde al singular y es de la siguiente manera:

Esta forma se utiliza para los sustantivos contables singulares y para los sustantivos incontables.

La segunda forma se refiere a sustantivos regulares contables y es de la siguiente manera.-

EXPRESIONES DE EXISTENCIA (There is, there was, there are, there were)
There is (der is): hay (forma singular).
There are (der ar): hay (forma plural).
There was (der wuós): hubo, había (singular).
There were (derwuér): hubo, había (plural).
There will be (der wuíl bi): habrá (singular y plural).
