years . Our total steel production of 110 million metric tons (2006) represents 10%of
the total market and ranks first in the world .
ArcelorMittal currently employs
330,000 people in four continents – including 15,000 in the U .S . and Canada - has a
total revenue of 110 billion USD (2007) and
operates in over 65 countries . Arcelor is the
world’s leading manufacturer of steel shapes
with an annual production of over five million metric tons and the European leader instructural and piling sections . In addition we
are a major supplier of heavy shapes and
other structurals to the United States .

Our mill in Differdange, Luxembourg
rolled the first parallel wide flange shape in
the world in 1902 as well as the first 40 inch
deep beam in 1911 . In 1979 we introduced
Tailor-Made beams (WTM) to the U .S . which
were praised by both structural engineersand fabricators as a cost-effective alternative to built-up sections and concrete . Today
ArcelorMittal offers the largest range of
shapes in the world including 14" columns
weighing up to 730 lbs/ft (Jumbos) and 44"
deep beams .
In 1990 we introduced a new product called HISTAR® in grades 50 and 65 .
HISTAR® is produced by a Quenching and
Self-Tempering (QST) process and conforms
