Exercise on negative sentences
Rewrite the sentences in the negative.

1. They collected postcards. → They did not collect postcards.
2. You jumped high. → You did not jump high.
3. Albert played squash. → Albert did not play squash.
4. The teacher tested our English. → The teacher did not test our English.
5. Fiona visited her grandma. → Fiona did not visit her grandma.
6. He washed thecar. → He did not wash the car.
7. You were thirsty. → You were not thirsty.( If the verb is a form of be, we simply place not behind the verb.)
8. He had a computer. → He did not have a computer.
9. I bought bread. → I did not buy bread.
10. You saw the house. → You did not see the house.

Write positive sentences in simple past.

Have a look at James's last week's diary and answer the questions in complete sentences. Put the time expression at the end of the sentence.
