1) The objective of this report is to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with management and training strategies in order to handle the new changes in the transportlogistics sector in EU.
2) SMEs stand for small and medium-sized enterprises.
3) It's not possible because the response rate to the questionaire was very low.
4) To improve their situation, the SMEs inthe transport business must develop new compentecies which allow them to offer better and more competitive logistics services with a skilled workforce.
5) SMEs are flexible and innovative and aredefined as the backbone of an economy.
6) E-business is so important because with the necessary skills in information and communication technologies SMEs will be able to extend their business because theywill have more public presence and in this way they can have more customers.
7) The essential skills for e-business are skills in marketing, information and communication technologies.
8) As forvocational training, educational systems lack practical orientation and their courses are not up-to-date.
9) The essential guidelines are the following:
a) training should be accessible regardingtime and it has to be up-to-date and practically oriented according to the needs of SMEs.
b) SMEs must be ready to cope with the future changes paying more attention to information andcommunication technologies.
