How do people communicate? To communicate effectively, the effective manager must anticipate possible breakdowns in the communication process-make sure that the message is understood as intended. Avoid barriers that stop communication.

Communication Process
Message: is the idea that the sender wants to convey Encode: sender chooses certain words or other symbols to express an idea. It is the thinking planning stage.Channel: the method (medium) that you choose to deliver the message. (only three channels exist.) Receiver: person who attaches meaning (interprets) the message.

Decoding: Make sense of what is being said or read, interprets the symbols or signs. Feedback: It is the response to the message received by the sender. Determines if the message has been effective ornot. Some may be verbal or non-verbal Barriers: factors that interfere with the message, also known as noise.
